Bohs stretch unbeaten run

Sligo’s pretty football counted for nothing as champions Bohemians punished poor defending to stretch their unbeaten run to seven games and move up to third in the table.

Sligo were much the better side in the first half, forcing seven corners to nil. But it was the champions who trooped off for the interval a goal up.

That wouldn’t have been the case but for a stunning save by Bohs’ keeper Barry Murphy, who turned Alan Keane’s volley round a post on 19 minutes.

Bohs' lead then arrived on 37 minutes when Mark Quigley put Paddy Madden away on the left to cross for Paul Keegan to rifle past Richard Brush.

Further bad defended gifted Bohs their second goal on 59 minutes. Brush failed to gather Quigley’s deep free-kick from the left and big defender Ken Oman headed home at the back post.
