Ventre injured for Sligo
Sligo Rovers will be without Danny Ventre for tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash with UCD at The Showgrounds, kick-off 7.45pm.
Ventre misses out through suspension after he was sent off in the 3-0 win against Galway United on Friday night.
Alan Keane returns from his ban, but Matthew Blinkhorn and Mauro Almeida remain out with back and Achilles injuries.
Lee McEvilly has left the club after picking up a serious injury so Padraig Amond is likely to lead the line once again.
UCD travel to the northwest without the injured David McMillan, who will remain out for the next few weeks.
Greg Bolger, Brian Shortall, Sean Harding and Chris Mulhall are all doubtful as they are carrying knocks.
A Championship players Michael Kelly and Gareth Matthews are set to be brought into the senior squad.
UCD boss Martin Russell said: “It’s performance that really matters to me. I asked for an improvement after the Bohs game and I got it. Paul O’Connor’s full debut was particularly pleasing.
“I was very impressed with Paul Cook’s team when they visited the Bowl recently. His lads play good football and competing against that kind of opposition provides a test we relish.”
