Former Celtic manager Martin O’Neill has dismissed speculation that he was in the running for a return to Parkhead.

The Aston Villa boss backed the appointment of Neil Lennon as Hoops’ new manager but rubbished the rumours that he had been set to come back either as boss or as mentor to his former captain.
