Sligo face Athlone with four missing
Sligo Rovers go head to head with Athlone Town in tonight’s FAI Ford Cup third round clash at the The Showgrounds, kick-off 7.45pm.
Paul Cook’s side will be favourites to progress to the next round as First Division side Athlone are languishing in the bottom half of the league table.
Sligo, on the other hand are coming into the game brimming with confidence having scored five in their last victory over Bray Wanderers.
Rovers have a number of players unavailable for the Cup clash as Eoin Doyle, Alan Keane and Danny Ventre are all missing.
Doyle, Keane and Ventre are all serving a one-game suspension.
Matthew Blinkhorn is also likely to sit out the game as he is still struggling with injury.
Iarfhlaith Davoren should be fit to start despite a hamstring worry, while Mauro Almeida is a long-term absentee because of an Achillies injury,
2009 FAI Cup losing finalists, Sligo are going into the tie having scored 21 goals in their last four matches in all competitions.
