Aiden McGeady has assured interim Celtic boss Neil Lennon he will be fit for the start of pre-season.
McGeady suffered a knee ligament strain in the final Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Hearts but he is confident he will shake off the problem when the Hoops report back for action next month.
McGeady told the Scottish Sun: “I should be running in a couple of weeks. I fell on my knee in the last game at Tynecastle and the next day I struggled to walk.
“Lenny gave me the week off and I was due back on the Monday for St Pauli in Germany.
“I think he thought I was at it when I came back and said my knee wasn‘t right. A scan showed a small ligament strain but I’ll be fine for the start of pre-season.”
