United look to recover from defeat
Galway United travel to Oriel Park to take on Dundalk in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash (kick-off 7.45pm).
United will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing defeat to Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght last Friday night.
Sean Connor must plan for the trip to face his old club without midfielder Stephen O’Donnell who is suspended.
Midfielder Derek O'Brien is still struggling with a stomach problem and will also miss out.
Dundalk will be without midfielder Stephen Maher through suspension, while Liam Burns, Garry Breen, Tom Miller and JJ Melligan are all carrying injuries and are unlikely to feature.
Lilywhites boss Ian Foster said: “They’re all genuine injuries and none of them have trained.
“We’ll wait and see on the four of them. Miller has probably got a better chance than any of them. But certainly Burns, Breen and Melligan are still doubts; they’re two calves and an abdominal injury.
“Fortunately, Alan Cawley has come back into the reckoning, which is good for us, so he can fill in there. What it does do when everyone is fit and available is add competition for places in the centre of the park, which is fantastic for us.”
