Sligo rout Letterkenny to reach quarter-finals

Matt Blinkhorn scored a hat-trick as Sligo cruised past non-league Letterkenny and into the last-eight of the EA Sports Cup.

Padraig Almond started and finished the scoring for the home side on the night.

In between, Blinkhorn hit his trio, the first a superb solo effort as he beat four players before shooting past keeper Colm McGettigan.

Blinkhorn lobbed McGettigan for his second on 63 minutes before completing his hat-trick in the 74th minute with a deflected shot.

Mark Doninger added Sligo’s other goal on 81 minutes.
