Late fitness test for Heitinga

John Heitinga is hoping to feature in Everton’s final Premier League game of the season against Portsmouth on Sunday.

The Dutch utility player has missed the last two games with a hairline fracture of the ankle but has returned to training.

Manager David Moyes admits playing Heitinga would be a risk but says he is “desperate” to take part and will be given a fitness test.

Marouane Fellaini (ankle) and Dan Gosling (knee) are the Toffees’ other major absentees.
