Skipper and midfielder Karl Henry was starting a three-game ban for his sending-off at Arsenal last weekend and was replaced by David Edwards.

Stoke made two changes from the side which won 2-0 against Hull. Mamady Sidibe replaced injured top scorer Ricardo Fuller while midfielder Dean Whitehead was preferred to Liam Lawrence.

Victory for Wolves would take them eight points clear of the bottom three with only four games remaining.

Wolverhampton: Hahnemann, Zubar, Craddock, Berra, Elokobi, Mancienne, David Jones, Edwards, Foley, Jarvis, Doyle. Subs: Hennessey, Ebanks-Blake, Ward, Halford, Iwelumo, Milijas, Guedioura.

Stoke: Sorensen, Huth, Abdoulaye Faye, Higginbotham, Collins, Delap, Whitehead, Whelan, Etherington, Sidibe, Kitson. Subs: Begovic, Lawrence, Pugh, Sanli, Wilkinson, Lund, Moult.
