Scoreless draw a drab affair

Galway had just one shot on target, and UCD scarcely many more, as both sides settled for a point from the drabbest of scoreless draws at the UCD Bowl.

UCD had the better chances with Graham Rusk bringing a stop from Barry Ryan while playmaker Greg Bolger just failed to get a touch on winger Rusk’s delivery into the box on the hour mark.

Galway had a good deal of possession but made little of it until the 82nd minute when substitute James Creaney brought a diving save from Billy Brennan.
