Galway have four doubts ahead of Dundalk clash

Galway United entertain Dundalk in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at Terryland Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

Galway have injury concerns over Jason Molloy, Stephen O'Donnell, Bobby Ryan and Jamie Mc Kenzie and all four will have fitness tests ahead of the game.

Striker Alan Murphy remains out with a long-term injury.

United boss Sean Connor said: “Friday night is a great chance to get back to winning games at home, it will be a difficult test, they have hit the ground running, but I expect a response from my players, we cannot contemplate losing three in a row, that is a habit we want to get out off.

“It is early days but we do not want to be cut adrift at the bottom. I know we can play a lot better than we have shown so far.

“Having Anto Flood available will be a huge boost. Anto will give us a genuine goal threat and take some of the work away from Karl Shepherd. He will also give the side a physical presence up front. It took a while to get him over the line but now that he is here I know he will make a big difference.

“I am looking forward to this game, I enjoyed my time at Dundalk and although there were one or two difficult individuals, I had a great working relationship with Gerry Matthews, a good bond with the players and a developing rapport with the fans. I know they will appreciate the fact that I left them with European football. I think they enjoyed the ride last year.”

Dundalk boss Ian Foster will again be without the services of injured pair Tiarnán Mulvenna and Alan Cawley.

Mulvenna remains out with a knee injury, while Cawley is recovering from a fractured cheekbone.
