Kirby a doubt for Sporting
Sporting Fingal go head to head with Drogheda United in tonight’s Airtricity League Premier Division clash at Morton Stadium, kick-off 7.45pm.
Fingal midfielder Alan Kirby is a doubt as he is struggling with a back strain. And Lorcan Fitzgerald remains sidelined for at least another fortnight with a fractured cheekbone.
Manager Liam Buckley said: “Back-to-back wins inevitably breeds confidence but that won’t allow us to underestimate the challenge of our opponents, Drogheda United.
“After a difficult opening night against UCD, they were probably the better side at Dundalk and were unlucky not to get something from their home game with Bohemians last week when they led until very late in the game.”
For Drogheda, Jamie Harris, Jamie Duffy, Corey Treacy and Mick Daly are all doubts for the trip to Santry.
Boss Alan Mathews will make a decision on Friday on whether to include them in his match squad.
Joe Kendrick and John Flood are both suspended for the game.
Mathews said: “Sporting Fingal are a team I expect to finish up there come the end of the season, they have added some really good players.
“They had a good squad last season and Liam Buckley has done a good job adding to the squad.
