Whelan sidelined for another week
Sligo Rovers will be looking to build on their impressive unbeaten start to the season when they take on Bohemians at Dalymount Park, kick-off 7.45pm.
Paul Whelan is missing for Rovers as he is still struggling with a minor leg injury and faces another week on the sidelines.
New signing Joseph N'do is likely to be involved in the squad, pending clearance, after completing a switch to Rovers earlier in the week.
Defender Gavin Peers is confident ahead of the tie as the Bit o' Red secured some good results against the Phibsboro side last season.
Peers said: “Last year we did well against Bohs. We beat them twice in the Showgrounds and in Dalymount we got a draw and also only lost in extra-time in the EA Sports Cup semi-final.
"They haven’t taken many points off us. We will not be fearing them, we will go there and have a right go at them. That’s all you can do. You can’t sit back and let them come onto you.”
Bohs boss Pat Fenlon has a number of injury concerns ahead of the clash.
Steven Gray’s ankle injury keeps him out, while Killian Brennan (ankle), Anto Murphy (shoulder) and Raffaele Cretaro (calf) will all be subject to late fitness tests.
Fenlon knows a tough text is in store for the champions. He said: “They will as strong as they were last year. They gave us tough matches and I don’t expect it to be any different this season.”
