Reports: Mowbray leaves Celtic

It has been reported that Tony Mowbray has left the manager's job at Celtic.

Neil Lennon will be asked to take over as caretaker manger at the club until the end of the season.

It has also been reported that assistant manager Mark Venus and first-team coach Peter Grant have left the club.

Last night’s 4-0 SPL thrashing at St Mirren was the 13th defeat of Mowbray’s tenure, which began when he succeeded Gordon Strachan in the summer.

Mowbray’s reign as Parkhead boss hit a new low last night as the Hoops slumped to their heaviest league defeat outside an Old Firm derby for 30 years.

The result left Celtic 10 points behind Rangers, who have two games in hand and can now win the SPL title before the league splits in just over three weeks’ time.
