Manchester City will assess Stephen Ireland after the midfielder suffered a shin injury in last night’s 2-0 loss to Everton.

Ireland, who had been making his first appearance in a month after being overlooked by Roberto Mancini, was forced off before half-time in the Barclays Premier League clash at Eastlands.
