Anderson out for the season

Manchester United midfielder Anderson has been ruled out for the rest of the season after rupturing his cruciate ligament during Tuesday’s win over West Ham.

Anderson, who was making his first appearance for more than a month, suffered the injury during the first half of the 3-0 Premier League win.

It is another setback for the Brazilian, who has struggled to hold down a regular place since joining United from Porto in 2007.
