Judge puts stay on City winding up order

The High Court has given a final reprieve to Cork City football club.

Ms Justice Mary Laffoy has put a stay on a winding up order for the club pending the payment of almost €164,000 to Revenue by 2pm tomorrow.

City's new owners have said they are willing to pay the club's debts if they are granted a licence by the FAI at a meeting this evening.

The new owners bought the club at 3pm this afternoon and are a consortium involving Michael O'Connell and Peter Gray along with the Cork City Supporters' Trust, Foras.
