Sol Campbell made his first European appearance for Arsenal since the 2006 Champions League final in tonight’s clash against Porto at Estadio do Dragao.

The Gunners were forced into several changes from the side which beat Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League.

Lukasz Fabianski replaced the injured Manuel Almunia in goal, while former skipper Campbell partnered Thomas Vermaelen at the heart of the defence and full-back Bacary Sagna came in for Emmanuel Eboue.

Denilson came into midfield for Alex Song, while Tomas Rosicky started and Nicklas Bendtner led the attack with Theo Walcott on the bench.

Porto, beaten by Chelsea here during the group stages, were able to recall Brazil striker Hulk, who is serving a domestic ban for his part in a tunnel bust-up involving Benfica stewards. Midfielder Raul Meireles also returned from injury.
