Rothen misses out for Rangers
Jerome Rothen remains in France being treated for swine flu meaning he will have no part to play in this weekend‘s Clydesdale Bank Premier League game against Aberdeen.
He contracted the illness while back in his homeland and Rangers boss Walter Smith says there is no chance of infection spreading among the rest of the squad.
Better news for Rangers is the return of Steven Naismith ahead of the trip to Pittodrie, after he missed the midweek defeat to Stuttgart with hamstring and calf injuries.
Longer-term casualties Maurice Edu and Kirk Broadfoot are back in training and are both nearing a return to the first team.
Provisional squad: McGregor, Whittaker, Papac, Weir, Wilson, Davis, Thomson, McCulloch, Naismith, Novo, Miller, Fleck, Boyd, Lafferty, Bougherra, Smith, Little, Ness, Alexander.
