Sporting Fingal promoted after Bray epic

Bray Wanderers 2 Sporting Fingal 2 (Sporting Fingal win 4-2 on aggregate)

Goals from Eamon Zayed and Robert Bayly, in a dramatic finale, sealed Sporting Fingal’s place in the Premier Division to relegate Bray after five years in the top flight.

FAI Cup finalists Sporting punished an error by Bray keeper Chris O’Connor on 59 mins, when he rushed off his line only to lose the ball to Gary O’Neill, to take the lead on the night. Conan Byrne’s shot was only partially cleared and former Bray player Zayed rifled to the net.

John Flood lobbed Darren Quigley from Paul Byrne’s pass on 83 mins to give Bray hope. Keeper O'Connor then remarkably headed Bray in front on the night from Gary McCabe's 91st minute corner.

But Sporting hit back immediately when O'Neill rounded O'Connor to cross to give Bayly a tap-in as Sporting celebrated their promotion just two year after being founded.
