Maradona to face disciplinary hearing

FIFA have announced the disciplinary hearing into Argentina coach Diego Maradona’s comments after the recent World Cup qualifier against Uruguay will be held this weekend.

Maradona let loose with a foul-mouthed tirade aimed at his critics after his side clinched their place at next summer’s finals with a 1-0 win in Montevideo on October 14.

The former World Cup-winning player could be handed a touchline ban when FIFA meet to discuss the case behind closed doors in Zurich on Sunday.

Maradona, whose side face Spain in a friendly in Madrid on Saturday, will be granted a hearing at the meeting in Switzerland.
