Newcastle fans launch attempt to buy football club

Football supporters launched a campaign today to turn Newcastle United into “Barcelona-on-Tyne” – with a fans’ buy-out at St James’ Park.

They hope, by appealing to fans, banks and businesses, to raise sufficient funds to prise the club from owner Mike Ashley’s grasp.
