Ancelotti hails top Drog
Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti would not swap Didier Drogba for any other striker after watching the Ivory Coast international fire the Blues into the last 16 of the Champions League.
Drogba missed Chelsea’s opening three Group D games due to suspension but returned with a bang last night, netting both of his side’s goals in a 2-2 draw with Atletico Madrid.
Ancelotti said: “For sure, I want to keep him. I don’t want to change him with any other striker.
“Didier is an important player for us. We have a lot of important players but he is doing very well and we are happy.”
Next up for Chelsea is Sunday’s mouthwatering showdown against Manchester United, where the top two sides in the Premier League go toe-to-toe at Stamford Bridge.
Drogba told Sky Sports: “We have to show different qualities and be better than today. Today was far from a good performance, we played well but were not good enough to win.”
