Murray missing for City

Cork City will be looking to finish their home campaign with victory over Dundalk at Turner's Cross tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

For City, Billy Dennehy returns from suspension, but skipper Dan Murray misses out after his sending off against Drogheda last week.

Joe Gamble and Timmy Kiely are still sidelined with knee injuries, but Dan Connor has returned to training this week and should be available.

City boss Paul Doolin said: “Our previous meeting with Dundalk here at Turner’s Cross was one which I felt we deserved at least a point out of, but we gave them a two goal head-start in that encounter and did not recover from it.

“Our last meeting was at Oriel Park and I think they deserved to beat us on the day, so tomorrow’s game will certainly be a tough one for us.

“I have said all season that there are no easy games in this league, but I am confident that if we stick to our game plan we are capable of winning the game.”

Dundalk will be without suspended duo Michael Daly and Simon Kelly.

And boss Sean Connor must also plan without Tiarnán Mulvenna (family bereavement) and Mickey Collins (ankle).

Connor said: “We would like to get back to winning ways, obviously.

“There’s two games left and we want to make sure we don’t let fifth place slip from our grasp now.

“We have been in the same position now for a long time and it’s important that we don’t let go of that now.

“Our last two games are against two teams above us, but we have a decent record against both of them this season, so we’ll go into both games confident.

“It’s obviously our last away game of the season as well, so we want to give our travelling support, who have been fantastic all year, something to cheer about.”
