Gormley demands more goals from Bray side

Bray Wanderers will be desperate for three points against Dundalk tonight at the Carlisle Grounds to help with their battle to avoid automatic relegation (kick-off 7.45pm).

Gary McCabe is missing for Wanderers as he is struggling with an ankle injury, while Derek Foran also misses out with a groin injury.

Otherwise Bray boss Eddie Gormley has a full squad to choose from.

Gormley said: "It will be tough against Dundalk, but if the players give as much as they have been giving me, we will be in with a chance.

“But it’s crucial we start taking the chances that we are creating.”

Dundalk will be without suspended trio, club captain Thomas Heary, top scorer Chris Turner and the versatile Kevin McKinlay, while Mickey Collins (ankle) remains out.

On the plus side, Paul McAreavey, Simon Kelly (both calf) and Michael Coburn (shin splints) are all available after injury, but boss Sean Connor will again be short on options as he has been forced to call youth players into the squad.

Connor said: “We have three big players coming back into the side. Again, what it will mean is that we’ll have a very youthful bench, but maybe that’s an opportunity for some of the young lads to step up to the plate.

“It will be very tough. Bray are a good side and they actually play a decent game. They’re a quick side too, they have a bit of pace about them, so we know that they’re going to be up for it.”
