Hinkel fit for Celtic

Andreas Hinkel has boosted Celtic by declaring himself fit for their Europa League tie against Hamburg.

The full-back has missed the last three matches but has now recovered from a thigh injury.

The 27-year-old wants boss Tony Mowbray to throw him into Thursday’s clash at Parkhead against the team from his homeland.

He told the Scottish Daily Express: “Maybe I could have made the Motherwell game at the weekend but we wanted to play it safe.

“The duel against Hamburg for me, of course, is a special game.

“I am fit again and I am confident that I can play against Hamburg provided no complications occur during training.”
