Fury deny Tranmere approach for Fowler

North Queensland Fury have denied Robbie Fowler has been the subject of an approach my managerless Coca-Cola League One side Tranmere.

Rovers parted company with manager John Barnes last week and reports over the weekend suggested the club had approached 34-year-old Fowler with a view to the former Liverpool and England striker becoming their new player-manager.
