Yakubu on the bench for Toffees

England goalkeeper David James returned for Portsmouth’s Barclays Premier League clash with Everton at Fratton Park.

James missed the 3-1 Carling Cup victory over Carlisle and was restored as one of seven changes, with Aruna Dindane keeping his place following his midweek heroics.

Everton named former Pompey striker Ayegbeni Yakubu on the bench after the Nigerian overcame a groin problem.

Midfielder Steven Pienaar and defender Joseph Yobo passed fitness tests on their respective foot and hamstring injuries, while forward Louis Saha also started.
