More misery for Pat's
Galway United 2 St. Patrick’s Athletic 1
Galway heaped the misery on managerless St. Patrick’s as they beat them for the fourth time this season.
With Jeff Kenna having resigned as boss earlier in the day, Saints needed a lift but they weren’t getting it at Terryland Park.
Defender Seamus Conneely put Galway in front on 23 minutes when his deflected shot beat Gary Rogers.
Midfielder John Russell doubled Galway’s lead five minutes into the second half when he shot home from close range.
Jason Gavin gave Saints hope on 71 minutes when poking home from Alan Cawley’s cross, but Galway held out for a big win to ease them further away from the relegation zone, a place St. Pat's continue to habit.
