Goals from Alan Carey and Willie John Kiely moved First Division Waterford to within 90 minutes of a second cup final as they heaped misery on hapless St. Pat’s at Richmond Park.

Right-back Carey’s audacious cross-cum-shot from near the touchline deceived Saints’ keeper Gary Rogers to dip into the far corner of the net to give Blues a 25th minute lead.

Kiely then tapped home the second on 39 minutes after Rogers could only parry Graham Cummins' fierce drive.

St. Pat’s were clueless with fans chanting for the removal of boss Jeff Kenna during the second half.
