Rangers manager Walter Smith has no fresh injury worries ahead of their Champions League clash with Stuttgart.

Rangers manager Walter Smith has no fresh injury worries ahead of their Champions League clash with Stuttgart.

Kevin Thomson could be in the frame for the tournament opener despite a lack of game-time, with Smith admitting he has yet to decide on his starting line-up.

The midfielder was sent off just 14 minutes into his comeback match against Hearts – his first competitive outing since November – and did not feature in the goalless draw at Motherwell on Saturday after serving his suspension.

Smith will also decide whether Jerome Rothen should retain his place in the team after the on-loan Paris St Germain winger made his debut at the weekend.

Long-term casualties Maurice Edu and Kirk Broadfoot remain on the sidelines.

Provisional squad: McGregor, Whittaker, Weir, Bougherra, Papac, Mendes, Davis, McCulloch, Rothen, Novo, Miller, Naismith, Boyd, Thomson, Fleck, Wilson, Beasley, Alexander.
