Galway Utd at full strength for Rovers clash
Galway United and Shamrock Rovers go head-to-head in tonight’s League of Ireland Premier Division clash at Terryland Park, kick-off 7.45pm.
United boss Ian Foster will hope to turn things round as United face a tough test of character with a string of fixtures against the top teams in the Premier Division.
David Cooke returns after suspension, so with no injury concerns, United will be at full strength for the visit of the Hoops.
It’s a case of one back and three possibly sidelined as Shamrock Rovers travel west for this televised clash.
Shane Robinson returns from suspension, while there are doubts about the availability of Paddy Kavanagh (hip), Stephen Bradley (hamstring) and Corie Treacy (knee).
And new signing Graham Barrett is likely to come straight into the Hoops squad subject to receiving an International Transfer Clearance certificate.
Hoops boss Michael O’Neill said: “Both Paddy and Stephen had to come off during last week’s game against Dundalk, while Corie’s had a knee problem for the last couple of weeks.
“Obviously it’s good to have Shane back in the squad, and other than the three injured lads everyone is available for selection and looking forward to Galway.
“There have been no easy games home or away this season and this one will be no different. Galway have a good, well organised young team with plenty of energy.
“We’re expecting a difficult game, as tough as any we’ve had so far. But our ambition remains the same as before every game. We’re planning for a win and all three points.”
