Honours even at the Carlisle Grounds

Raff Cretaro scored twice to maintain his remarkable goal record against Bray this season as the sides had to settle for a point from this basement battle at the Carlisle Grounds tonight.

Cretaro punished defensive hesitancy to race behind onto Alan Keane’s long ball and shoot Rovers in front on six minutes.

A stunning volley from Dane Massey had Bray level on 21 minutes as he rifled Jake Kelly’s knock down past Richard Brush.

Cretaro restored Rovers lead on 43 minutes, however, when latching onto Derek Pender’s weak back header to lob Chris O’Connor.

It was Cretaro’s ninth league goal of the season, five of which have come against Bray.

Bray defender Dave Webster rattled the bar just before the break before the home side equalised for a second time to earn their point on 47 minutes when Gary McCabe scored empathically from a penalty after Keane had pulled down Kelly.

Bray finished with 10 men when midfielder Dave Mulcahy was sent off for a second booking for a foul on Cretaro on 78 minutes.
