Wanderers hope to leapfrog up table

Bray Wanderers are hoping to move off the bottom of the table with victory over fellow strugglers Sligo Rovers at the Carlisle Grounds tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.

Paul Byrne's long-term knee injury keeps him out of the Bray squad. However, Chris Shields returns from suspension.

Stephen Brennan (hamstring), Ian Touhy (hamstring) and Dave Webster are all struggling with injuries and are doubts for Wanderers boss Eddie Gormley.

Gormley said: "I'm looking forward to Friday night. It's a massive game for both sides, a real six pointer.

“Hopefully we can put in a performance like we did in Dundalk (drawing 0-0). They (Sligo) brought in a few new players in the window and we will have to be at our very best if we are to get something from the game.”

Conor O'Grady and Alan Keane are both struggling with knocks and are doubts for Rovers ahead of their trip to Bray.

Definitely ruled out, however, is Gavin Peers who didn’t come through training this week and is likely to be ruled out for another two weeks.
