Galway expected to progress

Galway United should progress to the next round of the FAI Ford Cup as they take on First Division side Longford Town at Terryland Park, kick-off 7.45pm.

John Russell returns to the United side after serving a suspension.

And Ian Foster’s side will be almost at full strength, however, new signing Aaron Greene is absent as he is not eligible.

Gareth Cronin's Longford side will be lucky to get anything out of their trip to Terryland.

The First Division side have lost their last three league games and currently lie joint second last with only 15 points accumulated all season.
