Cork earn point at packed Turner's Cross
Cork City 0 Shamrock Rovers 0
Cork dominated but couldn’t get the morale-boosting win they desired as Rovers, roared on by some 700 fans in a big attendance, earned a point at Turner’s Cross.
Gareth Cambridge had perhaps Cork’s best opening of the first half when heading a Danny Murphy cross at Rovers' keeper Barry Murphy.
Rovers' hitman Gary Twigg had a header straight at keeper Dan Connor on 75 minutes in their key opening.
But it was Cork who had a great chance to snatch it seven minutes from time when winger Billy Dennehy shot at Murphy when through one-on-one with the Hoops keeper.
