Twigg touch gives Rovers win
Drogheda United 0 Shamrock Rovers 1
Gary Twigg regained his goal touch as Rovers remain hot on the heels of leader Bohemians with a big win at United Park, to the delight of about 1,000 Hoops followers.
Drogheda shaded the first half and would have been in front at the break but for the stop of the half by Barry Murphy from ex-Hoop Jamie Duffy’s shot on 34 minutes.
But Rovers edge the second half and got their winner nine minutes from time when Twigg met Ollie Cahill’s cross to head home.
