D-Day for Cork City as funds deadline expires
Today is D-Day for Cork City in their effort to raise enough funds to avoid going out of business due to tax debts.
The Leeside club has been given until today to come up with a plan to pay outstanding debts to the Revenue Commissioners.
Supporters are hopeful that a newly arranged friendly match against Celtic will raise the money needed to keep the taxman at bay.
Cork's league game against Bray is set to go ahead either way at Turner's Cross this evening, but it remains unclear whether it will be a farewell or a celebration for the Rebel Army.
