Hamburg close to Rozenhal deal

Hamburg are closing in on the signing of David Rozehnal from Lazio.

Hamburg are closing in on the signing of David Rozehnal from Lazio.

The 29-year-old defender has been pinpointed as the man to solve a defensive crisis at the northern Germany club.

Both Alex Silva and Bastian Reinhardt are set for lengthy spells on the sidelines due to injury, which is why Hamburg have decided to scour the market.

“We are in contact with Lazio and the player, but there are still a few things to resolve,” said Hamburg spokesman Jorn Wolf to Kicker magazine.

Rozehnal has played 56 times for the Czech Republic and would be available for around €4m.
