Injury concerns for City

Derry City have several injury concerns ahead of tonight’s visit of Drogheda United to the Brandywell, kick-off 7.45pm.

Barry Molloy (ankle), Kevin Deery (calf), Liam Kearney (ankle) and Mark McChrystal (cheek bone) have all been ruled out.

Ciaran Martyn and Stephen Gray will also miss out as they are both suspended, although Gareth McGlynn and Clive Delaney return from suspension.

Candystripes boss Stephen Kenny said: "I think it's important for us to bounce back after last weeks defeat with a strong performance at home.

“Before the setback against Dundalk we had showed good form, keeping clean sheets and winning matches, so we are keen to get back to performing like that.

“Alan Mathews' Drogheda side has done well recently, they are a balanced team and have pace in attack so we will need to be at our best and get back to winning ways."

United boss Mathews has a fully fit squad, with the exception of long-term casualties Robbie Farrell and Steve Williams.

Paul Shiels returns from suspension and new signings Guy Bates and Brendan McGill will also be available for selection.

Mathews said: “We have another difficult away trip ahead of us. Derry City are a good side with a lot of good players. We will be looking to keep our good run going on Friday night. Derry are playing well and will be difficult to break down.”
