Rovers face Galway without trio
Shamrock Rovers entertain Galway United in tonight’s Premier Division clash at the Tallaght Stadium, kick-off 7pm.
For Rovers, Sean Webb remains sidelined due to a back problem, while Darragh Maguire (knee) and Padraig Amond (ligament) are extremely doubtful.
“Everyone else should be okay and available for the Galway United game but I don’t think either Darragh Maguire or Padraig Amond will make it,” said Hoops boss Michael O’Neill.
“Darragh’s got a massive pain barrier but he’s suffering from some nerve damage around his knee, while Padraig’s problem is with his medial ligament.”
“It would be good to go into the summer break with a win behind us as we’ve to carry the result of this game with us for a fortnight. The players will certainly be keen to win.
“Maybe we’ve had a few home results that were not to our liking – we’ll be looking to rectify that situation on Saturday and will be determined to get the three points.”
Galway will probably be without Derek O'Brien who limped out of their Cup game last week after the half-hour mark with a hamstring injury.
O'Brien responded well to treatment during the week but it is unlikely that boss Ian Foster will risk the left-sided player.
Alan Murphy and Shane Fitzgerald are still out with ankle injuries, while Sean Kelly is out with a knee ligament injury.
David Cooke returns to the squad after missing last week's victory over Finn Harps through injury.
