Bluebell gave ten-man Bray a right scare at the Carlisle Grounds as the Premier Division side scraped through to the fourth round.

Bray had midfielder Chris Shields sent off as early as 23 minutes for kicking out at Bluebell’s Graham Dunning.

Paul Byrne finally headed Bray in front from a Dane Massey corner on 65 minutes.

But Bluebell then missed a penalty on 73 minutes when Chris O’Connor saved Ciaran Quinn’s spot kick.

That came back to haunt Bluebell as Gary McCabe eased Bray nerves when firing home an 86th minute penalty after Byrne was fouled by Paul Connaughton.

Andrew Cleary got a consolation goal for Bluebell in the final minute.
