Businessman plans Magpies bid

A north-east UK businessman is planning to launch a £150m (€176m) takeover bid for Newcastle.

Rick Parkinson, who has made much of his cash from the textiles industry, has joined forces with four other entrepreneurs and is preparing to make a formal offer for United.
