Rangers will give Pedro Mendes and Maurice Edu every opportunity to prove their fitness ahead of the Homecoming Scottish Cup final.

The midfield duo are rated doubtful for tomorrow’s clash with Falkirk at Hampden after both picked up thigh knocks during last week’s win at Dundee United, which saw Rangers clinch the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title.

The absence of either player could pave the way for deposed skipper Barry Ferguson to make his first start since his part in the ’Boozegate’ affair, which saw him stripped of the captaincy and banned by the club.

Provisional squad: Alexander, Whittaker, Weir, Bougherra, Papac, Davis, Mendes, Edu, Lafferty, McCulloch, Boyd, Novo, Miller, Ferguson, McGregor, Naismith, Fleck, Wilson.
