McCoist: Players focused on cup
Ally McCoist insists the celebrations are back on hold until after Rangers claim a domestic double by winning the Homecoming Scottish Cup on Saturday.
The early part of the week was spent basking in their Clydesdale Bank Premier League success after clinching the title on the final day, ending a four-year wait for the silverware to return to Ibrox.
But McCoist has told Falkirk they can forget about any complacency on Rangers part this weekend, claiming they will be fully focused on their defence of the trophy when the two clubs meet at Hampden.
“It’s not difficult to turn our thoughts to the cup final actually because of the importance of the game and the fact we’ve got a fantastic opportunity to win a league and cup double,” said the assistant boss.
“Last week at Tannadice was very, very special and I felt the players deserved it because of the way they approached it and the way they played. They were entitled to a few days of excitement afterwards.
“But the importance of the game is a great thing and brings us all back down to earth.
“We’ve still got unfinished business in the shape of the Scottish Cup and we want to lift that too.”
