Rangers headed into the final game of the season knowing victory at Dundee United today would guarantee them the Clydesdale Bank Premier League title.

Manager Walter Smith named an unchanged side from the one that defeated Aberdeen last week for the trip to Tannadice.

Madjid Bougherra started in the heart of defence after having his red card reduced to a yellow, while Barry Ferguson had to settle for a place on the bench again after making his comeback against the Dons.

United made three changes from the side who suffered defeat to Hearts, with Mihael Kovacevic, Paul Caddis and Darren Dods drafted into the starting line-up and Sean Dillon, Garry Kenneth and Francisco Sandaza named on the bench.
