Mark Quigley was St. Patrick’s goal hero to ease the pressure on boss Jeff Kenna as Dundalk had a player sent off - for the fourth match running.

Despite losing both Stuart Byrne and Alan Cawley to injury inside the opening eight minutes, St. Pat’s regrouped and got the game's only goal on 33 minutes.

Dave Partridge’s ball over the top found the run of Quigley and he cleverly chipped Chris Bennion in the Dundalk goal.

Dundalk suffered a further blow just before the interval when defender Dave Rogers was dismissed for dissent, apparently dropping his shorts towards St. Pat’s fans.

Dundalk could still have snatched a point, however.

Declan O’Brien and Darren Mansaram hit the woodwork while O’Brien had a 72nd minute penalty was saved by Gary Rogers.
