Hull rejoice as United announce second-string squad

Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is to rest most of his senior stars ahead of next week’s Champions League final.

Wes Brown, has been sidelined by a foot problem since January, is in contention for a first-team return.

Ferguson will take a check on Rio Ferdinand’s fitness in the morning, while he is also contemplating naming Darren Fletcher as captain given the Scotland midfielder must miss the encounter with Barcelona through suspension.
