Late Twigg brace sinks Bohs
Shamrock Rovers 2 Bohemians 1
If he wasn't already, Gary Twigg became a Hoops hero with a late, late double to sink arch-rivals Bohemians in a sensational finish at Tallaght Stadium.
Jason Byrne put the champions in front on 15 minutes with the 150th league goal of his career.
Anto Murphy was hauled down by Rovers’ captain Shane Robinson and Byrne slotted home his 11th goal of the season.
But Rovers hit back late on when Twigg hooked home a Stephen Rice shot to level on 88 minutes.
Scot Twigg then won it within 90 seconds when meeting Aidan Price’s free-kick to loop a header over Brian Murphy to the delight of the home crowd.
The win moves Rovers level on points with Derry City in third place.
Defeat, their third of the season and second in a row, leaves Bohs three points behind leaders Cork City.
