Cork put troubles aside to notch vital win

Dan Murray played the captain’s role to put financially troubled Cork top of the table tonight - for 24 hours at least - after a fifth win on the spin.

Central defender Murray struck on 39 minutes when heading home the only goal of a dramatic match which saw both sides finish with10 men.

Derry defender Mark McChrystal was the first to see red on 51 minutes for a second yellow card.

Cork midfielder Stephen O’Donnell, only back from a long injury lay off, was also then sent off in the final minute for dissent.
